Everton will now meet Hartlepool or Sheffield Wednesday in an away tie in the third round of the F.A. Youth Cup following yesterday’s 4-0 home win against Shrewsbury Town.
After a goalless first half, due mainly to fine goalkeeping by Shrewsbury’s Pomeroy, Everton struck through Esser (twice), Marshall and Williams.
